ill have to admit, when vinsetta garage went up for sale last year, i panicked at the thought that this gorgeous 1919 historic auto repair shop would be demolished and turned into another cvs or target superstore. lets be honest, society is losing appreciation for anything historical in this world.
we watched the for sale sign get taken down from the building and waited to hear what was next. ryan called me all excited one day that vinsetta was being turned into a restaurant. and even better, its by the owners of clarkston union and union woodshop.
after months and months of waiting, vinsetta garage the restaurant opened its doors in may and we have been waiting for the right occasion to check it out. on monday i turned 25. eeeek! old lady! but the highlight (besides spending the day with ryan of course) was dinner at vinsetta garage!
with only a 45 minute wait, we grabbed a few drinks and sat in the waiting area adorned with blackhawk chests from the restoration hardware aviator collection. i recommend the sucker punch cocktail. delicious.
the staff is wearing a mixture of vintage auto repair shirts and detroit shirts. napkins are wrapped in shop rags. great ambience. a thing or two i might change about the lighting/decor but all in all, it was extremely well executed.
ry and i shared an order of the breadsticks which came with this AMAZING butter/herb/cheese sauce… to die for. then we had a pizza and order of the mac and cheese. everything was incredible.
check it out. give yourself some wait time, its completely worth it!
