The daily ramblings and adventures at PEACE LOVE DESIGN. Design, fashion, food, and fun.

in a nutshell

Jessica Smith

hello and welcome to the all new blog!

in a nutshell, this is a place i will be sharing thoughts, ideas, and the inside ramblings of my design studio… not limited to: weddings. graphic design. interior design. fashion. photography. oh and probably food.

like i said… in a nutshell.

so for those of you just joining me on what so far has been a roller coaster ride, here is a little bit about me and the story of

my name is jessica. i am a designer.

my favorite color is grey. i love my two dogs, bear & moses. i could literally eat macaroni and cheese everyday. i love concrete and i-beams and brick. i love theater… i could see west side story, rent, and wicked over and over again. i own way too many bathing suits, sundresses, and hoodies. my boyfriend ryan is the love of my life and my best friend. i waited my whole life to find him and he is worth every second i waited. i love repurposed antiques. there is something so beautiful about the past and everything it left us. i hate pitched roofs. i want to live in a building one day. i love lowercase letters, i use them always, it’s not a typo. i tear up at every wedding, even if i don’t know the couple getting married. the union of marriage is a beautiful and sacred thing and i cannot help but well up and get covered in goosebumps when i hear “i do”.

i went to art school for interior design. i left art school madly in love with graphic design and hating the politics of interior design. one day, a coworker asked me if i could design a save-the-date postcard for her wedding. having no experience in any wedding stationery, i nervously said “sure”. one thing led to another and before i knew it, i was busy as a bee with brides.

confucius once said, “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”. i don’t know that i chose but it certainly chose me. i love what i do and i do what i love. everyday is an adventure.

that being said, thank you for joining. stay tuned for cool stuff, guest bloggers, and dance parties.
